Introduction

We are currently hiring an Account Director for our client who is a medical communication company. The selected candidate is a true leader with extraordinary strategic vision and client facing skills, bringing impeccable project management experience, and a passion for adventure in the medical and pharmaceutical landscapes. This is a permanent position. The role is remote (Ontario/Quebec).

  • Working closely with the internal team, clients and relevant stakeholders, act as a brand ambassador and project lead, providing clear strategic direction and defining priorities to drive the successful execution of projects
  • Develop and maintain trusting partnerships with key external stakeholders
  • Collaborate closely with external experts in known and new therapeutic areas
  • Provide ongoing strategic support to our clients effectively and proactively analyzing, identifying and validating future customer needs
  • Work closely with the Management Team on business development opportunities including strategic input for incremental revenue growth with existing clients
  • Assist in brainstorming sessions and in developing innovative project proposals related to specific client needs
  • Ensure consistency and highest quality of delivered products/services while actively monitoring that all project related processes are followed (from project brief, to final delivery, execution and project close)
  • Ensure that projects are delivered on time, on scope, and within budget
  • Support account management team in handling requests, evaluating and mitigating project complications and implementing effective solutions
  • Identify improvement opportunities of company processes and support development of standard operating procedures
  • Monitor and stay current on latest scientific communication trends, including digital solutions
  • Oversee budget planning, tracking of projects and manage billing in collaboration with Finance/Accounting
  • Attend and facilitate events, both live and virtual (some domestic and international travel is required, currently limited due to COVID-19 restrictions)
  • Ensure all communications reflect standards and assist in delivering an overall exceptional client experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, sciences or other medical-related field;advanced/graduate degree in Communications or related field, and/or equivalent experience an asset
  • 5+ years of experience in the medical education/communications space or in the pharmaceutical industry, with at least 2 years of experience in a Senior Account Manager or preferably, Account Director role
  • Proven track record in delivering end to end client-focused solutions, demonstrating benefit and value based on client needs
  • Proven success in leading teams to develop, manage and execute digital and in-person projects
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint, Excel, and Word. Adobe suite especially Acrobat, Prism are a plus
  • Excellent communication skills and high proficency in English and French (oral and written)
  • Demonstrable ability to communicate, present and facilite in both live and virtual meeting settings
