The Role

On behalf of a leading EPCM company, Brunel are seeking expressions of interest for an Area Manager to lead and manage a portfolio of major capital projects, primarily in the Iron Ore space, for a large multinational mining & metals company. This position will be based in Perth, located in the CBD and will run from 1-3 years based on the current portfolio.



  • Demonstrable and proven experience in the mining industry at a leadership level.
  • Proven experience in the management of mining contracts with a focus on safety, cost, schedule and quality.
  • Proven ability to create, drive and maintain a positive safety culture.
  • Ability to proactively manage workload and forecasts to develop challenging, but achievable, team goals.
  • Experience establishing and maintaining the necessary systems and procedures to ensure safety and efficiency
  • Experience managing team performance with respect to safety, cost, schedule and quality
  • The ability to drive change and take an adaptable approach to work practices and the environment.
  • Proven experience in implementing change initiatives
  • Experience in managing and supervising growing teams
  • Management training/ Qualifications
  • SMP experience preferred
