Automation & Controls Engineer - Contract Day Rate - QLD (FIFO 2/2 roster)

Brunel Australasia are seeking an Automation & Controls Engineer for a rotational contract in Queensland. The successful applicant will have demonstrable ABB 800xA experience.

  • Demonstrated experience in a Control Systems engineering role, ideally involving the operation & maintenance of hydrocarbons plant or other installations involving gas wells, compression and transmission
  • Tertiary engineering qualification in a relevant field (Control, Instrumentation) or substantial trades-based experience within the Instrumentation and Controls field
  • High level of analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Initiative and capacity to exercise good judgment
  • Good verbal and written communication skills with strong interpersonal skills
  • High-level computing skills expected – Microsoft Office, and engineering maintenance systems for plant and equipment
  • Ability to work self-managed and unsupervised

  • 800xA sv5.1
  • 800xA multi-system integration
  • AC800M controllers including HI controllers
  • ABB Process Graphics Editor
  • Function Designer
  • CMD Editor

Advantageous:

  • Experience with a variety of PLC, DCS, ICSS PCS & SIS and SCADA automations systems (including Allen Bradley and ABB)
  • Experience of industrial communications protocols (Modbus / Profibus / OPC / 61850)
  • Software development for systems including management of control system modifications
