We are hiring a Civil Engineer to join an exciting project in Burlington, ON. This is a 3-month contract assignment with our client, a leading global engineering consulting organization. This opportunity is for someone with strong technical expertise and drive, that can assist the Consulting team in the delivery of Infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

  • A client facing and technical role within the Consulting Business Line
  • Managing projects, deliverables, sub-consultants and designers
  • Preparing engineering designs in accordance with schedules and budgets
  • Dealing with Municipalities, Agencies, Contractors, and Owners
  • Effectively applying methodology and enforcing project standards that contribute to quality deliverables
  • Willingness to coach and mentor team member to build business capability

  • P. Eng. (Ontario) with 10 to 15 years Ontario design experience
  • Experience shall include site development, storm water studies, site services, pavements, and specifications
  • Strong problem solving and technical skills with solid knowledge of relevant Codes and Standards
  • Rail / transit experience (ie. Metrolinx) would be an asset
  • Sound organization and time management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Team player with a ‘can do’ attitude and skills to find solutions and resolve issues in an efficient and logical fashion
  • A self-starter able to take ownership of assigned tasks and steward closure
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience preparing proposals and delivering presentations
  • Proficient with MS Office product suite
  • Previous supervision of a small staff group or experience with leading a business unit would be an asset
  • An ability to create and share a sense of direction to individuals and teams
