Brunel have partnered with a leading International Renewables Company to successfully recruit and place a suitably qualified Civil/ Senior Civil Engineer to support our Client’s Team in a full time, permanent role based in Perth.

This is an exciting opportunity to get in at the ground level of a rapidly expanding, dynamic, global green energy business, currently undertaking a rapid expansion.

Reporting to the Principal Civil Engineer, this role will have an emphasis on civil engineering from an earthworks, drainage and road design and management perspective. Candidates must be able to bring a flexible mindset, challenge traditional thinking, and be prepared to work outside of their comfort zone.

  • Manage, design, develop, create and maintain small-scale through to large-scale projects in a safe, timely and sustainable manner.
  • Develop assessment and management of risk throughout engineering project life cycles including operational assets.
  • Build strong relationships with local and international stakeholders.
  • Proactively deliver on the company’s stretch targets.
  • Develop technical specifications to meet project specific objectives.
  • Develop technical and feasibility studies and development of drawings that satisfy technical specifications.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, documents, specifications and scopes.
  • Management of contractors and sub-contractors, including the preparation, adjudication, award and execution of tender packages for various stages of study, design and project execution.
  • Resolution of technical and design issues.
  • Liaising with a range of key stakeholders on all technical aspects of projects.
  • Tracking progress and performance against agreed specific and strategic KPI’s for the team and contractors.
  • Comply with guidelines and regulations including permits, safety etc. and deliver technical files and other technical documentation as required.



  • Bachelor’s Degree in civil engineering as a minimum.
  • Experience in providing comprehensive design services for the full project lifecycle from feasibility through to construction.
  • Applied knowledge of civil and earthworks design.
  • A critical appreciation of the risk assessment and management process, including communication of risk to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong awareness in the development of project schedules and considerations of regulatory approvals.
  • Strong team skills and willingness to travel for short periods.
  • High level of passion for renewable energy
  • Proven ability for credible and authentic engagement with strong interpersonal skills
  • High levels of self-motivation with a demonstrated ability in resilience when managing diverse workloads and priorities and deliver quality and timely results
  • Extremely well developed analytical, research and problem-solving skills
