About this role: Contractor Coordinator

Reporting to the AST2 Commissioning Manager, this contract position will provide coordination support for Contractors engaged in the commissioning work at our AST2 facility.


  • Proactively monitors Contractor Responsible Care® performance indicators and initiates corrective actions as required.
  • Ensures contractors meet the proper training requirements to be on site.
  • Attends contractor toolbox talks/safety meetings.
  • Acts as the Designated Site Representative (DSR) under the contractor management program for Non-Resident / Resident Contractors and Service Providers.
  • Responsible for assigning resources to planned and unplanned activities and distributing planned work packages for field execution.
  • Participates in managing costs for Resident and Non-Resident Contractors.
  • Site contact for addressing contractor related invoice and requisition issues and approves related invoices.
  • Assists in the requirements and issuance of permits.
  • Tracks and monitors plant equipment sent offsite for repair.
  • Assists Property and Services with maintenance programs including snow removal and landscaping.
  • Supplies regional support in shut down/ outage situations across the region.
  • Manages the scaffold/insulation material process.
  • Coordinates support from Vendors to meet the commissioning requirements and timing.
  • Coordinates resources contracted for specific commissioning tasks.
  • Field coordination of commissioning activities.




  • 10+ years of progressive experience in a manufacturing discipline or equivalent technology education with maintenance and construction experience.
  • Flexibility to work alternative work schedules in a 24hr, 7 day/week operation and participate in scheduled and unscheduled equipment shutdown and plant turnaround/outage activities.
  • Strong maintenance or technical background.
  • Demonstrated commitment toward safety, health and the environment.
  • Self-management and leadership skills.
  • Good written, computer and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and participate as a member of the team.
