Seeking a Cultural Heritage Advisor to work in Brisbane.
Brunel Australasia are currently partnering with one of Australia’s leading natural gas producers. They have a great reputation for creating a safety-focused culture, whilst they expand their operations in Queensland’s onshore gas reserves.

This role is responsible for representing the company in all aspects of Cultural Heritage management and related stakeholder engagement required for projects and operations. The scope includes the management of both Indigenous and non-Indigenous cultural heritage. Working with the Cultural Heritage Lead, this role will assist in developing strategies which either support the management and mitigation of issues, opportunities and risks, or address contractual commitments with Traditional Owner Groups and their entities. The accountabilities of the Cultural Heritage Advisor role are:

  • Safely and efficiently deliver Cultural Heritage commitments as defined within the Cultural Heritage Management Strategies and Plans and related requirements within the Indigenous Land Use Agreements.
  • Ensure company remains compliant with relevant company policy, lender requirements and national/state legislation
  • Develop and maintain relevant procedures and systems; and review Cultural Heritage Agreements as required.
  • Manage Cultural Heritage input within the Upstream development integrated approvals process.
  • Maintain highly effective stakeholder relations for Cultural Heritage delivery; including Traditional Owners, internal business partners, Service Providers, and relevant statutory bodies.
  • Report on Cultural Heritage including; SP plan outcomes; compliance, schedule, costs, stakeholder and risk management.
  • Support engagement with Traditional Owner Groups as appropriate to report on cultural heritage requirements.



  • Strong knowledge of legislative requirements with respect to Indigenous Cultural Heritage (ACHA) in Queensland, applied to industry.
  • Working knowledge of Native Title legislation
  • Experienced leading implementation of Cultural Heritage Agreements (can work autonomously).
  • A record of successful engagement with Indigenous communities regarding Cultural Heritage processes and agreements
  • Budget and Project Management experience
  • Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills. Ability to deal with stakeholders at all levels and capacity, and manage conflict.
  • Experienced contracts manager, including management of staff and contractors in the field at multiple locations.
  • Exemplary safety record. Proven ability to review, improve and update processes and systems to adapt with changing requirements.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership behaviours: Collaboration; Authenticity, Growth and Performance (outcomes driven).
  • Qualifications in cultural heritage will be favourably considere

  • $600/day Incl Super
