About this role

  • Canadian listed company whose flagship project in a mining sector in Mattilanperä, Raahe;
  • Production is expected to begin during 2021.

  • Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent is based at the mine site and will lead a diverse team of technical professionals in delivering a broad range of activities for the site;
  • This role will see you provide leadership and functional expertise in a broad range of areas, delivering functional support for the site Maintenance, Operations and Project teams;
  • Lead and develop your team through the delivery of safe work practices that comply with the site Safety and Health Management System;
  • Support compliance to relevant Engineering Standards for project delivery and procurement activities;
  • Manage the sites Blueprint Standard and Change Control processes; and department budget including forecasting and rectifying variances;
  • Lead a team of discipline engineers providing deep technical functional support to the Operation, Maintenance and Project teams on site;
  • Manage the governance of the Asset Integrity for the mines critical assets including draglines, dams, conveyor systems, electrical infrastructure.



  • An effective leader and communicator with strong interpersonal skills;
  • 8 + years experience as a Maintenance Superintendent or equivalent in open cut mining operations;
  • Experience with CHPP or Processing Plants;
  • Strong system and process management skills;
  • Ability to prioritise work and manage multiple business priorities simultaneously is important, as is your ability to build and maintain stakeholder relationships;
  • You should have an understanding of engineering principles, standards and processes in a maintenance and project environment;
  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or have equivalent trade and industry experience to support the technical requirements of the role;
  • Mining/processing industry and any SAP experience will be an advantage.
