About this role: Environmental Approvals Specialist

Opportunity for an Environmental Approvals Specialist to join a global leader in the mining and resources sector, supporting Part IV approvals for the company’s WA Operations Capital Program. The role is critical to ensure fit-for-purpose primary project approvals can be delivered without delays to current operations. The role will involve working closely with the Regional Approvals Manager as well as project and site stakeholders to progress approval requirements.

Key responsibilities to include:

  • Prepare Part IV and EPBC approval documents, management plans and environmental offsets strategies.
  • Manage approvals strategy, studies and schedule for Part IV and EPBC approvals.
  • Develop scope of works for environmental studies, monitor consultants’ delivery and review technical documents.
  • Provide support to Regional Approvals Manager and Global Project Approvals Manager with regulatory and community stakeholder engagement.
  • Support other secondary approvals, such as Part V EP Act Approvals.



  • Substantial experience working in environmental project approvals and impact assessments.
  • Excellent knowledge of Part IV approvals, in line with the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA).
  • Strong business focus and an ability to understand business needs and translate into requirements.
  • Ability to strategically align methodology for internal and external approvals to avoid delays.
  • Strong influencing, negotiating, liaising, business acumen and follow up skills.

  • Perth based, SOR location with flexibility to work 1 day from home
  • 8-hour days, 40-hour week, Monday to Friday
  • 18 months+ duration, expected to be extended
  • Paying up to $94/hr + super
