We’re hiring a General Medicines Medical Head for a Global and innovative pharmaceutical company inMississauga, ON. This role is fully on-site. The successful candidate will work in the Medicines Global Business Unit (GBU). General Medicine GBU combines the product portfolios of the company’s products in Diabetes, Cardiovascular (DCV) and Transplant therapeutic areas. Canada is part of a broader Innovate to Grow business segment within the General Medicines GBU, which focuses exclusively on products defined as key assets.


  • Leading the provision of appropriate medical input to BU so that Marketing including Multichannel Marketing, Sales and Promotion, Finance, Commercial, provision of Medical Information, and support to Pharmacovigilance and Regulatory Affairs is conducted to high standards consistent with current legal and ethical considerations and corporate policy.
  • Develop and lead the therapy area data analysis and dissemination to meet the local business needs.
  • Leading and managing all KOL interactions within the BU ensuring appropriate engagements in line with KOL needs, compliance requirements and ethical considerations. Develop KOL engagement and development plans aligned with business needs.
  • Leading ethical compliance within the therapy area working collaboratively with compliance, transparency, and other divisions to ensure a common approach to all customer facing code requirements.
  • Providing medical support to other functions in the aligned therapy teams where necessary e.g. patient engagements, public affairs.
  • Contribute to the development of TA business strategy from the medical point of view in cooperation with business partners.
  • To provide strategic input and medical advice on commercial plans from the local medical affairs perspective.
  • Serve as medico-regulatory expert and watchdog for regulatory intelligence in relevant therapy areas with a special focus on bio-similar products.
  • Collaborate with Patient Advocacy Group for patient association interactions and act as point of contact in a cross-functional way representing the medical function.



  • Medical degree (MD)
  • Scientific/health related degree is acceptable if supported by significant experience.
  • Strong KOL management.
  • Analytic and synthetic capacity.
  • Ability to translate strategy into operational excellence.
  • Excellent project management.
  • Ability to lead multiple projects at the same time.
  • Ability to work across diverse functional teams and in alliance.
  • French written and spoken: Intermediate.
  • English written and spoken: Intermediate.
