About this role: Principal Cost Controller

Opportunity for a Principal Cost Controller to join a global leader in the mining sector, responsible for a team of cost control professionals, as well as managing data and reporting services for the cost controls function on a major capital project.

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Maintain Project Controls governance, processes and procedures.
  • Lead the cost function and manage a team of cost control professionals.
  • Establish and encourage positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Measure project progress and report on budgets, performance, and forecasting.
  • Maintain cost models, preparing dashboards for presentation to the leadership teams.
  • Highlight variances to the plan, reviewing and communicating potential impacts.
  • Ensure the setting and achievement of Cost Control Group KPIs and measures.
  • Identify innovative methods to continuously improve cost control methods.
  • Travel to site monthly to support the project team.

Requirements

Requirements

  • Principal Cost Controller with major capital project experience.
  • Previous experience leading a cost control team, managing performance.
  • Degree qualified or internationally accredited project controls certification.
  • Strong communication skills, ability to interface with project and corporate stakeholders.
  • Experience with cost and finance systems, such as CMS, Ariba and SAP.
