About this role: Principal Designer – Electrical

We have an urgent opening for Principal Designer-Electrical for our client a leading oil & gas company to join their growing team. This would be 6 months (extendable based on project requirements) contract on Brunel Payroll and the job location would be (Location).

  • Diploma degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university with minimum of 14-18 years of experience in electrical engineering and design activities in EPC/Consultancy firm;
  • Extensive knowledge in International Codes and standards such as IEC, BSI, IEEE/ANSI, NEC and latest engineering developments, commercial availability, and cost of the materials;
  • Ability to lead the team of designers with clear established plan, Manhour estimation, staff forecasting, develop the schedule, progress reporting and executing the project with uncompromised quality;
  • Extensive knowledge on Electrical system engineering and design of Large-scale LNG/Petrochemical/Oil & Gas/Ammonia and Industrial facilities for complete Engineering cycle such as Conceptual design, Basic Engineering, FEED and EPC;
  • Good written and oral communication skills;
  • Excellent change and time management capabilities, excellent problem-solving skills, strong judgment, and decision-making skills;
  • 3D software skills like PDMS, SP3D, E3D and 2D Software skills like AutoCAD, MicroStation, Review software like Navisworks, SPR, Global Lighting software tools as minimum. Skills in ETAP, SPEL, AVEVA will be an added advantage.

  • Coordinate with project management team, Lead Engineer, and discipline manager to ensure execution of scope of work in line with defined schedule/milestones;
  • Provide technical direction to a team of designers for execution of medium to large size projects. Perform the task independently on assigned projects as when required;
  • Develop, review and coordinate design documents with other disciplines, and/or Other KBR offices located globally, Customers and Field engineering team;
  • Produce/Review major electrical design deliverables such as Power layout, Substation layout Grounding layouts, Cable tray Layouts, Underground layouts, Lighting layouts, Installation details, Bulk Material MTOs, SLDs, Cable Block diagram and Interconnection diagrams as a minimum with discipline design team;
  • Ensures electrical systems designs comply with all applicable installation codes, Design guidelines, regulations, and standards;
  • Produce / Review 3D Model design and coordinate within design team / Inter discipline;
  • Present 3D model to clients along with the other KBR Global office team;
  • Coordinate/Participate in activities associated with material procurement such as Vendor drawing review of all major electrical equipment, Bulk materials Estimation, and other discipline packages;
  • Participate in Quality Audits to make sure the design deliverables are defect free throughout the project execution;
  • Demonstrates leadership qualities with emphasis on continuous improvement and team building, and interpersonal communication skills;
  • Produce design deliverables efficiently by acquiring latest trend & techniques in the market and by implementing latest 3D/2D tools.e an added advantage.
