About this role

Brunel Australia has partnered with one of Australia’s leading Oil & Gas Operators, to successfully recruit and place a suitably qualified Project Engineer. The Project Engineer – (Execution) will be responsible for supporting the onshore brownfield delivery team through the execution phase, including detailed design through start-up.

  • Rate: TBC around $200k per year inclusive of Super
  • Roster: Perth Based (Monday to Friday)
  • Day rates (8 or 9 hour day options – with reflected rate)
  • 12 Month Contract – with view to extend

  • Provide project engineering support, with an execution focus, in aid of the Construction Lead across all scopes of work.Act as technical focal point for the above ground installation (AGI) contract, fabrication and minor works contracts.
  • Provide support to the construction and contracts team for the civils and undergrounds (CUG), horizontal directional drilling (HDD) and cross island transmission (XIT) contracts. This includes from award through monitoring and reporting of these scopes.
  • Support the construction team in achieving execution readiness, including constructability and pre-mobilisation reviews.
  • Support the Construction team with contractor mobilisation, scope of work definition, deliverable review and execution methodology.
  • Support interface management with execution contractors, asset operations and maintenance teams, and other capital projects
  • Provide package management support, to procurement packages and interdisciplinary work scopes.
  • Serve as home office focal point for Construction team during execution activities from construction through pre-commissioning.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years’ working experience with Oil & Gas, or similar industry, required.
  • Engineering Degree or equivalent
  • Previous experience with execution activities (construction, fabrication or commissioning), is essential.
  • A strong working knowledge of the various engineering disciplines such as civil / structural, electrical, instrumentation, mechanical, piping and rotating equipment is beneficial.
  • Fully competent in project engineering.
  • Previous package management experience beneficial.
  • Previous Brownfields project experience.
  • Previous contractor management and reporting experience.
  • Good general computing skills including excel and word and MS Teams required.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal (English language) communications skills are essential
