About this role: Resource Definition Geologist

Brunel are currently working in partnership with one of Australia’s leading Mine Owners to successfully recruit and place a Junior Geologist into our Operations Team. This role will be offered on a family friendly 8 days on and 6 days off roster from Perth to Site (in WA) the position will be offered initially on a 12-month contract with the view to become permanent or be offered an extension.

  • How to work safety in a site-based environment, working around heavy equipment and drilling rigs
  • Interpretation & Logging techniques & data management strategies
  • How to work as part of a small, family orientated close knit team
  • Exposure to all the major software packages (Surpac, ArcGIS & QGis, Leapfrog, et)
  • Assist with drilling supervision including well design, drill logging and pump testing
  • Perform Field geochemical measurements
  • Assist with Safety inspections and daily reporting
  • Assist with Site based peg outs & tagging
  • Get involved with Pit planning and numerical modelling



  • A strong commitment to safety on site
  • Experience with Logging Samples (or RC Chips)
  • A Qualification in Geology or Hydrogeology
  • Strong Communication skills and ability to get on well with others
  • Experience in a FIFO role will be highly regarded
  • Previous experience working in a rural environment will be highly regarded



  • Day Rates: $600 - $700 per day + Superannuation
  • Estimated Working Days per year: 208
  • Perth to site (no interstate travel will be paid)
  • 12-Month Contract – with the view to go Permanent or be extended for the right person
  • 12 hours per day on an 8:6 FIFO roster
