About this role: Rewild Project Manager (Veterinary)

We are currently recruiting for our client in Saudi Arabia. “Saudi Arabia is building a futuristic mega-city called Neom deep in a desert bordering the Red Sea. The state has pledged at least $500 billion to make it happen, and is soliciting further investment. Neom is a planned cross-border city in the Tabuk Province of northwestern Saudi Arabia. It is planned to incorporate smart city technologies and also function as a tourist destination.

  • Position: Rewild Project Manager (Veterinary);
  • Sector: Land Conservation;
  • Role Objective;
  • To organize and manage the Acacia Grove Valley Rewild Project, including;
  • The procurement, screening, husbandry, habituation, veterinary care of reintroduced wildlife;
  • Release into the wild and post-release assessment of wildlife;
  • Longer-term husbandry or captive breeding of arabian wildlife species, and Habitat restoration.




  • Experience with veterinary support for wildlife captive breeding and reintroduction programs, experience with Palearctic arid land ungulates desirable;
  • Strong background in wildlife veterinary medicine and husbandry, especially as they relate to wild Arabian ungulates and carnivores;
  • Experience working with government agencies, scientists, protected area managers;
  • Strong leadership skills and proven ability to simultaneously manage a wide number of different functional areas and multiple staff;
  • Have good skills in project management including proposals, scope of work, managing contractors, budgeting, projections, reporting, and communications;
  • A creative and agile approach to workplace challenges, able to adapt and find solutions to rapidly changing conditions and challenges;
  • A proven ability to motivate staff and provide appropriate developmental opportunities that increase operational performance;
  • A willingness and ability to conduct field work in Arabian desert, savanna, and montane arid environments for extended periods of time;
  • Higher degree in veterinary medicine;
  • One or more years of experience in veterinary practice dealing with wildlife.
