Brunel Australasia are seeking a Resource Definition Geologist to play an essential and unique role on behalf of our Blue-Chip Mining owner/operator client

  • Day Rates: $600 - $650 per day + Superannuation
  • Estimated Working Days per year: 208
  • Perth to site (no interstate travel avail)
  • 6 Month Contract – with the view to go Permanent
  • 12 hours per day (10.5 hours on Fly in day, 9.5 hours on fly out day)

The Resource Definition Geologist will perform, coordinate, review and/or assist in estimating mineral resource models from interpretation of geology and mineral controls to estimation of metal grades and validation of grade models. Geophysical and satellite photography techniques are being refined to allow us to “look” below the surface of the earth. New metallurgical and processing technologies permit the mining of what were once considered unmineable deposits. Due to a vacancy in the current team we need to assistance of a Suitably Qualified Super star to join the team and support our Site Based Activities

Usually you will wake up, head to the Canteen to get Breakfast, and lunch for the day, then head over to complete a daily pre-start meeting to understand the activities for the day. Then from Camp, you will head out to the rig, and either support, run or actively participate in a daily site start safety meeting and check, then move on to managing the drilling activities for the day.

  • Geological logging of RC Chips
  • Geotechnical analysis and management of Iron Ore Core Logging \
  • Work with Senior geologists to determine and plan Drilling campaigns
  • Daily on-rig management of drilling campaigns
  • Building strong relationships with Drilling & Field Services teams
  • Rig Management and completion of in-field Inspections and Field Leadership forms.
  • Generation of exportable datasets and maps (Data management and interpretation)
  • QAQC of drill hole data and Daily safety inspections of drill rigs and drill pads
  • Use of Vulcan, Acquire, Arc Map and Leapfrog Geo

Requirements

  • VULCAN and/or ARCGIS software experience beneficial
  • Previous iron ore Experience
  • C Class Drivers Licence (Manual)
  • 4WD certificate (within past 18 months)
  • Senior First Aid Certificate
