About this role

We’re hiring a Script Writer for our client, a Calgary based technology company that works in the transportation industry globally.

  • Create new solutions through analyzing, documenting, planning, designing, creating, and training for Workflow Solutions
  • Learn and extend the library of components used in Workflow Solutions (components are developed using Java, SQL, and JavaScript)
  • Become an expert in Workflow Solutions, implementing and improving each solution
  • Participate as a team member in multiple engagements (implementations, enhancements, new products)
  • Work with customers and project teams to develop, troubleshoot, and test software solutions
  • Successfully manage relationships with clients and stakeholders, delivering excellent customer experiences
  • Administer maintenance & second level support for deployed solutions
  • Leverage business knowledge and expertise to identify opportunities for process improvements

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of client facing experience
  • Minimum 2 years working with complex databases
  • Knowledge of Java (or other object-oriented programming language), JavaScript, and/or SQL
  • Knowledge of software engineering fundamentals, including data structures, testing, and debugging
  • Experience/skills in analyzing requirements and communicating them clearly
  • Proficient project management skills: defining scope, establishing priorities and timelines, escalating problems, managing risks, coordinating resources, communicating statuses, managing deliveries
  • Working knowledge of Mac OS and Microsoft Windows (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Post-secondary education in Math, Physics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other science degrees involving programming, or equivalent experience with fleet management software, ERP, or financial accounting systems
  • 1+ years in a Developer or Software Analyst role
  • Ability to travel as needed (US, Canada, United Kingdom)
