About this role: Senior Environmental Advisor

Brunel are seeking a Senior Environmental Advisor to join a global leader in the mining sector, leading a team of environmental specialist. The team is primarily responsible for environmental monitoring and data analysis, compliance verification and reporting, communication and stakeholder engagement, as well as providing contracts support for ongoing works.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Environmental incident response, review and support.
  • Compliance verification of legal environmental obligations.
  • Provide oversight and monitoring of ground disturbance activities and allocations.
  • Coordinate reporting requirements for Works Approvals and Licenses.
  • Manage data and draft reports for statutory compliance.
  • Oversee and assist monitoring requirements for statutory requirements.
  • Investigate potential exceedances of targets and trigger levels.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of corrective and preventative actions.
  • Develop and deliver environmental training and communications material.
  • Contractor management (audits, work area inspections, training & reports)
  • Participate in safety leadership initiatives through field interactions and critical control monitoring audits.

Requirements

Requirements

  • Previous resource sector experience, preferably in mine construction.
  • Tertiary qualification within Environmental Science, Management or Engineering discipline.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of relevant West Australian environmental legislation and environmental approval processes.
  • Knowledge of EMS and key aspects of environmental management.
  • Ability to work with and form positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong organisation, coordination and prioritisation skills.
