Brunel Australasia are currently recruiting for a Financial Analyst. This is an exciting opportunity to join a global Oil & Gas industry leader, working from their operations in the heart of Melbourne.

Provides analytical support in order to deliver financial results. Works with internal workers and external vendors to resolve issues and provide ad-hoc financial analysis. Prepares cost reports including forecasts/outlooks. Assists with allocation of funds for projects based on approved budgets and monitors project accounting. Validate invoices, expenditures and change requests impacting budgets. Identifies and implements improvements to cost management processes for greater efficiency and effectiveness. Works with moderate work direction and is skilled and knowledgeable to the position.Senior Financial Analyst might be performing basic financial decisions and financial analysis of high complexity.

  • Support Services analytical role; supporting business service departments by providing information on costs relating to their departments, gross and net monthly reporting
  • Provide Support Service information monthly and Quarterly to Operations Accounting Supervisor
  • Understanding of cost allocation process and set up of required cost objects for cost stewardship and cost flow
  • Co-ordinate and lead the annual Gippsland Basin JV Audit
  • Provide support and assistance to the Shared Services Managers during the P&B period
  • Month End Journals; Business service dept accruals, intercompany transfers, other ad-hoc journals
  • Own Use Fuel(OUF) input into EC Revenue monthly for offshore; and input of OUF pricing annually
  • Monthly Cost Above Field (CAF) reporting on Support Service costs to Managers, gross and net
  • Service fee bookings
  • Mutualised research and quarterly intercompany WD5 accruals
  • Compile Annual Support Services Planning and Budgeting (P&B) data and calculate Support Service Department Netting Factors for each
  • Business Line during P&B
  • Provide Support to the Australia Conventional Business Line, through cost object creation and analysis of allocations and bill ins vs first incurred costs
  • Deliver on time with high level of accuracy monthly, quarterly and year-end resultsReview and assist Support Groups to better understand recoverability of costs to ensure accurate JV and other affiliate recovery
