We’re hiring a top talent Training & Development Specialist, for a Global and innovative pharmaceutical company in Toronto. This is a hybrid work (2 days/week in the office and 3 days at home).

The purpose of the Training & Development Specialist is to collaborate with other stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts to support the overall training strategy in accordance with all applicable federal, local laws/regulations and Corporate Company policies, procedures and guidelines.


  • Design and develop scientific and adaptive skill learning content using established instructional design models (e.g. ADDIE) in a variety of formats (instructor-led, e-learning, blended learning) which supports the overall Medical Affairs training strategy.
  • Lead and facilitate the Medical Affairs On-Boarding and Orientation programs for new employees.
  • Work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to deliver learning programs in a timely, pragmatic, and cost-effective manner.
  • Collaborate with Research Compliance to Update and Deliver on Medical Affairs Work Instructions (WI) for the Enterprise Standards for Qualification & Training.
  • Local Learning administrator for all GxP (regulated) and on-line training in LMS, SUMMIT, including generation of monthly metrics to Medical Affairs Leadership Team.
  • Lead the development of role-based needs assessment, facilitation/presentation, and training effectiveness activities to support departmental training priorities.
  • Manage partnerships with training vendors based on learning objectives and compliance requirements to deliver engaging training to the department.
  • Maintain and update All content in the Medical Affairs learning portal.
  • Assist Sr. Training Specialist on key administrative & strategic tasks as required.




  • Post-Secondary Education is required; Master’s degree in science is an asset
  • Experience and/or knowledge of roles and responsibilities across medical affairs in the pharmaceutical industry is an asset
  • Experience in a regulated environment (pharmaceutical, clinical, banking, transportation, or other regulated industry) is required
  • Proficiency with instructional design methodology such as developing program/ learning objectives, and working with subject matter experts to develop training materials is required
  • Proficiency in document management and learning management systems is an asset
  • Training authoring tool (ex. Articulate, Captivate, Lectora) experience is an asset
  • Experience working in a cross-functional team environment is required
  • Strong organization, time management, prioritization and project management skills, ensuring projects are delivered on time and on budget are required
  • Very strong communication skills, able to communicate efficiently across a diverse spectrum of external and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment to medical affairs strategies is required
  • Solid presentation and facilitation skills, preferably in a training environment is required
  • Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office applications is required
  • Superior level of attention to detail and critical thinking is required
