About this role: West Wyalong Laboratory Manager – Geochemical

Our client is one of the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company’s. They are now hiring a Laboratory Manager for their West Wyalong Laboratory which has geochemical capabilities that include Gold Fire, Instrumental Sulphur Analysis, Base Metal analysis and Sample Preparation to name a few.

As the Lab Manager you will be responsible for providing analytical and technical services to clients as well as oversee the laboratory to ensure timely and quality analysis of samples. You will be responsible for the health and safety of all your direct reports, for raising issues to site / business management where required and for the quality and accuracy of tests and reports. You will also hold responsibility for the P&L.

To be successful in this role you will possess:• Professional qualifications in chemistry or a related discipline
• Experience in laboratory work, sample preparation and chemical knowledge• Experience in supervising staff and working in a dynamic and fast paced environment
• Understanding of acid extraction methods and recognition of sample and analytical procedures• Understanding of AAS operation and laboratory techniques
• Competency in using CCLAS LIMS
